Gareon Conley Commits to be a 2013 Buckeye

The 6’2” 175lbs corner back from Massillon Ohio has been on the Ohio State campus for an official visit and committed to coach Urban Meyer and his staff today according to Massillon Washington head coach Jason Hall. Once a Michigan commitment, he visited the Buckeyes for The Game against the Wolverines and came away more impressed with the Buckeyes. He was the 2nd best rated recruit in Michigan’s class before he decided to look around a little bit. A possible wide receiver in addition to corner back, Conley was still planning to visit Michigan before he made his decision on OSU this week.

The commitment of Conley has moved quickly for the Buckeye staff as they head into a busy weekend of recruiting visits. Two days after Conley de-committed from the Wolverines, Urban Meyer and Mike Vrabel travelled to his home town for a visit. They first visited him at his school and then made an in-home visit later in the day.

Conley will add depth to a defensive backfield that is losing Travis Howard to graduation this year. The 18th commit in a class that is already ranked in the top 10 nationally and the 2nd best in the Big Ten. He comes from the same school that brought wide receiver Devin Smith to Ohio State and has a number of good players in the 2014 class.
