Over the weekend of January 11th, Ohio State got a nice surprise in the 2014 commitment of cornerback Damon Webb. The Michigan Cass Tech product is 6’0” 175lbs and plays both sides of the ball at his state title winning High School. Webb is a 4-Star recruit according to Rivals.com and his school is considered a pipeline to the Michigan Wolverines, quite a get for the Buckeyes. He considers himself a solid commit for Urban Meyer although Michigan might continue to pursue him until signing day 2014. He also had offers from Michigan State, Illinois, and LSU.

On the same weekend, Ohio State played Michigan on the hardwood and upset the top ranked team. Webb’s commitment came shortly after the game. He became the 2nd recruit for 2014 following Marcelys Jones who committed on Christmas Day.

Cornerback’s Coach Kerry Coombs visited Cass Tech every month and made an impression on the junior with his passion and excitement for the Buckeye program.
