Point Guard AJ Harris Joins Ohio State

While Ohio State may be considered more of a football focused school, their basketball program received a big leg up this week when they announced the signing of A.J. Harris. Harris is a 5 foot 9 inch point guard that will join the Ohio Stare basketball program in two years, as a member if the class of 2015.

Despite his size, Harris had been extreme successful thus far through his high school basketball career. In his freshman season at Dunbar High School in Dayton, Harris led the team to an undefeated season and State championship. The team was widely considered one of the best in the country. Heading into his junior year, Harris looks ready to win another State title.

Most recruiting experts consider the point guard to be either a three or four star recruit. He was previously contacted by many other Division 1 programs and reportedly received a lot of interest from Michigan, a tough rival of the Ohio State basketball program. He could also end up being a catalyst of a great recruiting class. A.J. Harris is the point guard of an AAU team that features a few four and five star recruits.

Once he gets to the college ranks in two years, he should have a chance to compete for a starting position. Due to graduations, the only other player with starting point guard potentates would be D'Angelo Russell. Russell is a recruit who will join the Buckeyes as a member if the 2014 recruiting class.
