Curtis Samuel Commits To Play For Ohio State Football

Curtis Samuel, the famous five-star athlete from Brooklyn's Erasmus Hall Dutchmen Football Team, committed to play for the Ohio State Football Team on the 16th of August, 2013. The 6-foot, 186-pound Samuel made it clear that he intends to begin his college football career in Columbus next year. The commitment came while Danny Landberg, Erasmus Hall's coach, was meeting with Ohio State coaches.

Curtis Samuel chose Ohio State Football over elite programs such as Rutgers, Miami, Notre Dame and Alabama. He is the reigning Daily News high school player of the year winner after having led the Dutchmen to their first-ever Private School Athletic League (PSAL) city championship last December. According to the 247 Composite rankings, he is ranked as the second best player in New York and the 118th best player in the country.

What makes Curtis Samuel stand out is his extraordinary speed and big-play ability. He has been timed in the 40-yard dash at 4.36 seconds. While at Erasmus Hall, he broke the school's record in the 60-yard dash despite the fact that he had no experience in track.

Urban Meyer, the Ohio State Football Team's head coach, is said to have recruited Curtis Samuel personally. According to Landberg, Meyer is planning to utilize the talented and flexible Curtis Samuel just like he did with Percy Harvin while he was coaching the Florida Gators. A common way Meyer likes to recruit skill players for the Buckeye offense. Should be a talented number of receivers and running backs for years to come as OSU has sought out players like Samuel to increase their play making ability.
