Injuries for Ohio State Going Into Maryland Weekend

Maryland

Urban Meyer lost one of the star receivers for the Maryland game this weekend in Corey Smith. The senior receiver was injured during the Indiana game this past weekend and similar to Noah brown is out for the year. Ohio State continues to have receiver troubles.

Meyer might apply for a 6th year of eligibility for Corey Smith who was a Junior Varsity transfer student starting in 2013. This year would have been his last year but if they can get a medical hardship he will have one more year of eligibility.

Smith had 20 catches last season in 2014 when Ohio State won a National Championship. This year so far in four games he's had five catches.

Another injury that happened prior to the Indiana game was Cam Burrows who has played nickelback. Luke Fickell has stated that Burrows could need foot surgery but is not definite at this point. Marshon Lattimore played nickel against Indiana and then had to move into the starting role at cornerback during the first half when Gareon Conley left for an injury. Conley did return in the second half and Lattimore finished the game as the nickel.
