OSU Football Schedule

The Buckeyes (10-0) have a record 30 regular season wins and 23 wins in a row. And this one is at home in front of an enthusiastic Buckeye Nation on Senior Day. They haven’t played anyone that difficult, although everyone gives them their all, so this is the one game they have really been looking forward to.

The OSU Buckeyes need to score 30 points this weekend to put the Spartans away. Starting JT Barrett will be a big help in getting going early, as he will tuck and run for big gains when needed. Michigan State would love to force JT to pass the ball more than he wants to, as they feel that is a weakness for the Buckeyes.

Jalin Marshall returning punts, 12.7 yards a punt could break one. Receiving this weekend could also be huge for Marshall. And Braxton Miller could have a big role if the Buckeyes can get the ball into his hands. Starting center Jacoby Boren needs to have a big game opening up Elliot to make big plays on the ground and dominate the way Ohio State did last season against MSU.

Joey Bosa can help make MSU one dimensional by stopping any run attack the Spartans try to establish.

Michigan State Spartans

This is game 11 for the teams, they played in week 9 last year. Michigan State is a little beat up coming into the game this weekend and only averaging 140 yards on the ground recently. Everyone is doubting that MSU can pull this off. That is motivation for the team.

Michigan State’s schedule (9-1) has been a lot more difficult playing a number of Top 10 teams just recently. They are hoping to beat Ohio State, Penn State and Iowa to finish off the regular season and find themselves right in position to make the BCS playoff. A win against the Buckeyes would lead to them owning the East Division of the Big 10. They will come out fired up and try to be physical even with the injures they have had.

MSU has been needing Connor Cook to make plays in the air but he was injured last week which cause them all kinds of problems. Cook is going to try to play this weekend but their offensive output could be very limited. Ohio State turning the ball over in this game could keep Michigan State alive late into the fourth quarter.

Ohio State Michigan

A reporter made the mistake of asking Mark Dantonio about the Ohio State v Michigan rivalry this week. He was quick to remind everyone that the Big Ten Champion has been played out in the Ohio State v. Michigan State game the last 2 years. “The Game” (Ohio State v Michigan) follows up the MSU game for Ohio State.

If OSU is going to hit their best playing performances of the year, now is the time to do so. The game against Illinois did not display the level they to be playing at to win another Big Ten title.

But Michigan isn’t peeking at this time either, so OSU has every chance to win the two games against the teams up north.
