Ohio State Pursuing 2018 Point Guard Noah Locke
Ohio State is looking to add a highly ranked point guard to their 2018 class with Noah Locke from Owings Mills Maryland. Locke is a 6’2” guard rated the 15th best at his position in the country. He will visit the Buckeyes on August 22nd with previous visits going to Michigan, Florida, Xavier and Providence. Kansas was also looking to sign Locke but did not get an official visit from him. Michigan has only one scholarship open for the 2018 class and is hosting a number of other recruits. Ohio State is in great need of a point guard and has a thin roster at this time, would be a good spot for Locke.
With football season starting, OSU has many opportunities to host incoming basketball recruits for big games. Take for instance the week of September 23rd when the Buckeyes play UNLV at home, Holtmann has 2018 targets Justin Ahrens and guard Dwayne Cohill scheduled for official visits. Cohill is the highest rated recruit in Ohio that has not committed to a school. Cohill is also looking at Dayton and Virginia Tech. Ahrens has a Michigan visit planned along with the Ohio State trip.
Another option for the Chris Holtmann at point guard is Elijah Weaver, a 4 star recruit from Oldsmar Florida. Weaver is a little taller at 6’4” and is rated as the 9th best point guard in the country. He will visit Columbus September 9th, the weekend Oklahoma is in town to the play the Buckeye football team. The Buckeyes can sign a 5 member class for 2018 which currently only includes SG Torrence Watson.
