Michael Redd Named to
shooting guard Michael Redd has been named to the 2008 Olympic Men’s Basketball
team. He will be a part of a 12 member team heading to Beijing
Redd played his college ball at Ohio
State opposite Scooney
Penn, was drafted the 43rd overall in the 2000 draft, and has
been an invaluable player for the Milwaukee Bucks for years. At age 28 he is
one of the most coveted players in the league.
Redd performed well in the FIBA Americas
tournament last summer in Las Vegas
and should play an important role on the team this summer. Brought on as a
three point shooter and someone that can make zone defenses pay for not coming out
of the paint. The last couple American teams have suffered as international
teams have played a lot of zone keeping the driving players of the USA from
getting close to the basket.
