Kosta Koufos Drafted by the Utah Jazz

A few months after Kosta Koufos was named MVP of the NIT tournament he gets selected 23^rd overall in the NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz.

    Kosta Koufos, the big man from the Buckeyes was selected 23^rd in the NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz. In his only season at Ohio State Koufos averaged 14.4 points and 6.7 rebounds during his freshman year.

The Skinny

    Koufos has a world of potential in the NBA with his ability to play solid defense and his outside shooting capabilities. Big men in the NBA Draft are usually hit and miss, but Kosta Koufos, once he fills out, can be the piece of the puzzle the Jazz so desperately need to succeed in the playoffs.

Outlook

    Look for him to come off the bench this season to disrupt offenses and add another scoring power on the inside. Chad Ford, ESPN’s senior NBA Draft analyst added, “Great value pick for the Jazz at No.23. He could be the second coming of Mehmet Okur—a sweet-shooting big man who can play inside and outside.”
