South Florida safety prospect Vlad Emilien loved Ohio State during his Spring Game visit and is waiting for official visits to narrow down his school list from a current list of six.

Hard Hitting Safety

Vlad Emilien is a hard hitting safety prospect from Lauderhill Florida Plantation High School. He feels his best qualities on the football field include his work ethic, intelligence, and habit of studying film prior to a matchup. “Well my best attributes as a player is that I’m a hard worker I won’t let any one out work me in anything and I’m a very smart player meaning I do a lot of film work to know what my opponent is going to do before they do it.” He told us recently.

Being the defensive player of the year on a highly talented program from South Florida that also features Defensive Back Brandon McGee was a big deal for Emilien. “The highlight of my high school career is when I was voted defensive MVP of my team and when I had a kill shot on the Monarch’s running back.” His stats for the season were impressive in deed. “Last year I had 93 tackles three force fumbles and three interceptions.”

The Ohio State Visit

A number of South Florida prospects made the trip to Columbus for the Spring Game as we mentioned prior to the event in April. The staff and facilities continue to be a major recruiting plus for the university as Emilien thinks very highly of both. “I loved Ohio State when I went up there it was one of the best campuses in my eye.” He hasn’t been too active in the recruiting aspect of his career to this point but that will change when he begins to take visits this fall. “I didn’t make any other visits, I’m waiting for my officials.” He reported to us.

His College Selection

Things he is looking for in a college program include the coaching staff, the environment and the player’s attitudes. “I’m looking for a trust worthy coaching staff, a likeable environment and a brotherhood on the team.”

He may be facing an issue finding a spot in the Ohio State class as the defensive backfield has become full with six other recruits already in the class. He mentioned six other programs when we asked for his favorites. “Tennessee, Wisconsin, Wake Forest, Florida, West Virginia and South Florida are showing the most interest." We are following up with Emilien for additional details at this time…
