AJ Trapasso Given Weekly Award
AJ Trapasso Given Weekly Award
At Tuesday’s Press Conference with
Jim Tressel, AJ Trapasso was awarded the Special Teams Player of the Week.
Other Players of the Week were not announced as most of the focus was on USC
and what went wrong.
By Steve Patterson
Senior Punter AJ
Trapasso was awarded the Player of the Week award for his seven punts during
the USC game. Trapasso has twelve punts on the season with an average of 41.1
yards and a long of 51 yards. The Pickerington alumnus has already completed his
degree after red-shirting his first year and starting for the past three years.
Coach
Jim Tressel discussed the importance of Trapasso’s punts during the USC game
and the one that let the Trojans push the lead a little further. “AJ Trapasso
was our special team’s player of the week. He did a great job. I think he
punted seven times or thereabouts and his net punt would have been about 45 on
the side line, not letting McKnight change the game, except for that 29er, and
they got the ball on the 35 yard line and all of a sudden they're knocking at
the door to take -- to extend the lead even further.”
