Alabama is Heavily Favored Against Michigan State

In the Capital One Bowl this year, the sixth BCS bowl for all purposes, the defending national championship Alabama Crimson Tide will face the 11-1 Michigan State Spartans. Michigan state enters this game the underdog by 10 points even after completing their season with a better record and winning a portion of the Big Ten title this year. The Spartan players see the game as a chance to earn the respect they have been slighted.

The players from Michigan State hope to pull off an upset January 1st against the 9-3 Crimson Tide and earn respect for their season in addition to the Big Ten conference overall. The other two Big Ten teams sharing the conference title, Wisconsin and Ohio State, both ended the year ranked higher in the BCS and both were awarded BCS bowl games. Michigan State was left out but can prove their worth facing Nick Saban and Alabama in the Capital One Bowl.

The Spartans have been building a great football program for a number of years now and can prove their national power with a win against Alabama. Head Coach Mark Dantonio took over the program and began putting the pieces in place unlike Alabama’s Nick Saban who came in and had success the first year. With the game being in Orlando you can bet there will be a good number of Alabama fans there wearing their Alabama T shirts and their University of Alabama apparel, but the Spartans will focus on the task at hand and try to ignore a crowd that might be against them.

The Spartans under Coach Dantonio have lost three bowl games which might be one reason gamblers in Las Vegas are betting against them. But just like the pre-season poll makers that had Michigan State finishing seventh in the Big Ten, Alabama fans with their University of Alabama t shirts might be surprised when the underdogs come out on top.
