Ohio State's Gordon Gee's Apology Not Enough

Gordon Gee has been reprimanded by the Ohio State University Board of Trustees since his off-color comment about Catholics. While many are saying that Gee's joke was not offensive at all, the university president is still getting a lot of press because of his remark and just last night announced his retirement at the end of June.

A number of people including Rick Pitino, a basketball coach who was involved in a bathroom stall scandal in 2003, told USA Today that he is disappointed with Gordon Gee.

Gordon Gee, the president of Ohio State, who infuriated some Catholics like Rick Pitino, is also hated by everyone in college football. In one report, Gordon Gee was said to have called Arkansas' Bret Bielema a "thug".

Gordon Gee issued an apology for his comments but he was still called a "pompous ass" by Pitino. It was June 3rd when Gordon Gee apologized for his hurtful comments after a recording came out that the academic made unpalatable remarks about Notre Dame and Roman Catholics.

The full recording also details Gee's discussion of Big 10 gossip including saying that Barry Alvarez thought University of Arkansas' Bret Bielema is a thug. He also made a number of other disparaging comments about God and the Big 10 that the latter is worth more money than the former.

Although he has sent his apologies in private and also issued a public apology last weekend, Gordon Gee is this week's most hated academic considering his position as college president.

Gee's supporters say though that the things that the college president are all in jest and should not be taken seriously.
