Everyone knows the loss against Dayton in the NCAA first round was the final game for point guard Aaron Craft and forward Lenzelle Smith Jr, but now we learn Amedeo Della Valle is also leaving the team for a chance to go pro. He plans to play in Europe next year instead of returning to OSU.
He played 33 games for the Buckeyes over a 2 year period coming off the bench. His averages include 4 points a game in 12 minutes.
A statement posted online by Della Valle focusing on last year and the success the team had. But Amedeo had his biggest games this year, one in particular against Nebraska in the Big Ten tournament. He scored 12 points in 21 minutes to help in an important comeback win.
Junior forward LaQuinton Ross might also be leaving the team before his eligibility is up for a chance in play pro ball in Europe. The loss of four players will lead to a very different looking team for Thad Matta in the fall.
