Ohio State Football: Buckeyes Lose Johnnie Dixon to Injury
The Buckeyes, Ohio State Football team, have just lost a fourth freshman, Johnnie Dixon, to injury and he will be out for the rest of the 2014 season since he needs to undergo surgery on both knees as well as the time to recover.
Urban Meyer, head coach, told the media that the wide receiver, Dixon, has been battling minor injuries since his junior year in high school.
The coach spoke highly of Dixon, noting that he is very talented, but he has been hurt since his early years of high school. He also said that the team expects the freshman to be ready for spring practice.
Dixon signed up with the team this spring and has seen some playing time as he played against Navy when OSU won the game against the Midshipmen. The coach expressed some optimism and gave the team and fans some hope by saying that Dixon may be ready to join the rest of the team next season for spring practice.
More great news is that the freshman wide receiver will still be eligible for the Buckeyes in four years and qualifies for a medical redshirt. This means that all is not lost for the talented young player who also tallied over 20 yards and 4 catches against Kent State.
Players, fans, and coaches wish Dixon a speedy recover.
