Ohio State v Minnesota Turns into Romp By the Buckeyes

Ohio State fans might have been sweating heading into half-time of the Ohio State v Minnesota game this past weekend as the Buckeyes only led by 7 points. But by the end of third quarter there was no doubt who was going to win as Ohio State jumped out to a 28-0 lead. Running by two freshman tailbacks added late points with Terrelle Pryor rebounding from his worst game as a college athlete.

After the game freshman running back Jermil Martin talked with the media about his 39 yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. “It felt good to score a touchdown.” he said. “It was a dream come true. It felt great to be able to help the team. I've always had that drive and motivation and it was great to go out and show it today.” Pryor got to prove himself in the match, with 239 yards passing on the day with 2 touchdowns in addition to 104 yards rushing and a touchdown. He told Martin what he might have been feeling himself. “Terrelle told me good job and that I was finally proving myself.”

Jim Cordle returned for the buckeyes after sitting out a number of weeks with a injured ankle. “It doesn't affect me during the play;” he explained to the media. “I'm usually a little sore after [the game] though. It’s great to be back in a game situation. It can be up and down each day, but today I felt good.” The Buckeyes are also waiting for starting left tackle Andrew Miller to return from a long battle with the flu. Getting their upperclassmen offensive lineman back can only help with

Sophomore wide receiver DeVier Posey had a career day with 161 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was very humble after the game with such a great performance. “I feel like I still have a lot of learning to do.” he said. “The touchdowns feel good but I'm only half of the equation. Terrell made great passes.” Even with such an outstanding day he felt that he had more to improve. “I feel, personally, that I'm nowhere near where I want to be yet. I haven't reached my full potential, especially because of my hamstring issue early on.” He explained how much he learns weekly at practice. “I'm learning a lot and really trying to incorporate that knowledge onto the field.”

Ohio State is set to play New Mexico State this coming Saturday in Ohio Stadium at noon.
