Pat Muldoon
is a 6’4” 250lbs defensive end prospect from Cincinnati St. Xavier high school
that has drawn attention and offers from schools across the country. He rakes
up tackles and sacks on a regular basis. He described to us recently the
qualities that help him to produce on the field. “My best attributes are I play
hard every down and play disciplined football.” Muldoon said.
The St. Xavier Bombers ran the
table this past season on their way to a State Championship in the competitive
Ohio Division I. They beat DeMatha Catholic (DC) on national television during
the Herbstreit Challenge in addition to Cleveland Glenville, Cincinnati Elder,
Lakewood St Edward’s, Dublin Coffman and Mentor
to name some of the Ohio
powerhouse programs they beat. Muldoon felt winning the State Championship was
the highlight of his career so far. “The highlight of my high school career was
definitely winning State.” He explained.
In
December, Muldoon was named to the Greater Cathloic League First Team after
an impressive junior season. “My stats are 75 tackles and 12 sacks last year.”
Muldoon reported about his statistics for the year.
The first
weekend of April saw Muldoon receive an offer from Ohio State.
On a visit to campus during a Buckeye spring practice, Jim Tressel approached
the highly sought after defensive end prospect and offered him a scholarship. Muldoon
was somewhat caught off guard but was quite excited about receiving the offer.
Since that time Muldoon has visited once again and told us about his visits. “I
have been up to OSU twice now for recruiting visits. I like it a lot; the
facilities are amazing and the coaches are great guys.”
