Nick O’Leary Improves Ranking

After a very good performance at the recent Friday Night Lights Drills, Nick O’Leary moved from the 36th best prospect nationally to the 26th. He also obtained the #1 ranking among tight ends. Fans were hoping the West Palm Beach Florida 2011 prospect would be given a 5 star ranking by Rivals.com. But giving 5 star rankings to tight ends is a rare occasion and O’Leary remains a 4 star prospect today.

O’Leary plays for the Dwyer Panthers were he was a part of the great season they had last season. We asked him recently about his favorite moment in high school football, “Winning a state championship.” he explained to us. According to MaxPreps, O’Leary had 11 receptions last year for 184 yards and 3 touchdowns as a sophomore. Last season as a junior, he had 43 catches for 679 yards and 7 touchdowns.

The 6’4” 220lbs senior has offers from most of the major programs in the country including Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Wisconsin to name a few. He gave us his 8 favorites out of his 15+ scholarship offers. “Miami, FSU, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Wisconsin.” he reported.

He plans to wait making a college selection, “after the season” he told us about his decision timetable. Dwyer High School will play Ohio powerhouse Cleveland Glenville in the Kirk Herbstreit Varsity Football Series at the beginning of the season.
