Ohio States First 2011 Linebacker, Conner Crowell

Conner Crowell announced to the public that he had committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes before his Friday night game tonight. Ohio State is seeking a couple of linebackers for their 2011 class and now have a very good one from Waldorf Maryland. Penn State and Ohio State were the finalists for Crowell how liked the family atmosphere at Ohio State.

By Steve Patterson

Crowell is a 6’1” 215 lbs outside linebacker prospect that is rated the 20th best in the country. A three star recruit, he had over ten offers and had narrowed down to three teams, Penn State, Ohio State and Stanford. On a September 10th visit to Ohio State Crowell got a good feel for the coaching staff and liked the atmosphere at Ohio State. Wanting to secure his spot is a class that is close to full, Crowell told the coaches at OSU that he was committing to them over Larry Johnson and Penn State.

Luke Fickell was the main member of the Ohio State class to recruit Crowell and had time during the Buckeyes bye week to make some additional recruiting visits. Crowell had a good visit to Penn State on the 17th of September but it was not enough to get the declaration that they were seeking.
