Ohio State Receiver DeVier Posey Ready to Play for First Time Against Penn State

DeVier Posey knows that his time in the Scarlet and Gray is coming to an end and after having to sit out 10 games he is ready to finish the season on the field. Posey thought he was going to return to action after a five game memorabilia for money suspension only to find out the NCAA discovered an additional violation. His pay for a non-work job violation set back his return another five games and put Ohio State into more serious NCAA trouble. But now he is joining 24 seniors on senior day at Ohio Stadium as they seek a win against Penn State.

Posey is set to be a co-starter along with  Corey Brown at the one receiver position on Saturday. Brown is also returning to action after having to sit out last weeks loss at Purdue with an ankle injury. Posey’s presence on the field could boost the passing attack of the Buckeyes which has been lacking for a large percentage of the season. Establishing some kind of a passing game would allow OSU a little breathing room near the line of scrimmage, opening up running space for the backs and quarterback Braxton Miller. Penn State’s defensive is one of the best in the Big Ten so any offensive help would be appreciated.

The coaching staff and Luke Fickell hope Posey provides a spark to the offense in the same way that the return of Boom Herron lead to some nice mid-season wins. He will be introduced pre-game just like all the other seniors, and the administration is hoping fans will be receptive of the suspended players as they are honored. The game has a kick off time of 3:30 Saturday.

Posey being optimistic about the first suspension.
