Dontre Wilson Joins the Buckeyes for 2013

Desoto Texas college prospect Dontre Wilson switched his commitment from Oregon to Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes tonight. With Chip Kelley leaving Oregon to be the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, Wilson started looking again at Ohio State within the past month. Wilson visited Columbus 2 weeks ago and liked what he found in the school and football program. As a senior he rushed for 1,892 yards with 37 touchdowns in addition to 752 yards receiving and 9 touchdowns.

A running back in high school, the 5’10” 175 lbs. athlete is considered a receiver at the next level and could play in the slot position or on kick returns as early as this fall. He is considered to be a top 10 running back nationally and a 4 star recruit by most recruiting services. Meyer has been looking for a difference maker at the wide receiver position with a number of recent additions. Jordan Hall returning from injury could also provide the spark that the head coach is looking for in his Buckeye team.

Wilson was also considering Texas but became the 24th member of the Buckeye 2013 class just days before the recruiting period ends. All un-signed recruits should sign their letters of intent on the 6th. Offensive Coordinator Tom Herman has proved to be an excellent Texas recruiter getting three this year including Wilson, Mike Mitchell and JT Barrett.
