Akron Running Back Parris Campbell Selects Ohio State

An early commitment from a top in-state 2014 prospect in Parris Campbell has Ohio State fans excited about the upcoming class just after the team finished with a top 3 national 2013 recruiting class. Campbell selected the Buckeyes over offers from Indiana, Michigan State, and Tennessee. At 5’1” 170 lbs. and considered the fastest player in the state, the St. Vincent-St. Mary’s back looks to make an impact when he comes to Columbus in a year and a half. He was the third recruit to commit to Urban Meyer and his staff on Sunday during a big recruiting weekend for Juniors.

His visit involved meeting with the coaches, seeing the facilities, taking a look at academics and finishing off the day with an almost court-side seat at the Michigan basketball game. Ohio State really got excited about Campbell when he put in an MVP performance in the Division III state title game this last quarter.

Campbell was just starting to get a lot of attention when he ended his recruitment with his commitment. He got his offer on Sunday and made the commitment right away. He became the 5th member of the 2014 class joining offensive lineman Marcelys Jones, defensive back Damon Webb, defensive end Lawrence Marshall, and o-lineman Kyle Trout.
