Ohio State finished their season with 23 wins including 11 in the Big Ten conference, earning them a 10 seed in the NCAA tournament West Region. The quarterfinal loss in the Big Ten tournament was a little unpleasant for the Buckeyes but they still got a decent spot in March Madness. They are now scheduled to play Thursday against 7th seed Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Portland Oregon.

VCU had a record of 26-9 and played in the Atlantic 10 conference were they went 12-6. They also won the conference championship, beating Dayton 71-65 on Sunday.

This is Ohio State’s 7th straight entrance into the National Collegiate Athletic Associate tournament after winning the NIT in 2008. The past three years OSU made it to the Final Four, got to the Elite Eight, and was knocked out in the first round, in that order.

At the top of the West Region is Wisconsin, Baylor, Arizona, and North Carolina.
