Nick Saban Defends Sugar Bowl Comments

Nick Saban, the Head Coach for Alabama's Crimson Tide, came under heavy fire for his comments made at the SEC media day event following the Sugar Bowls playoffs. His comments were made regarding recent changes to first-round draft picks.

The comments came after the Crimson Tide lost the brutal playoff game against Ohio State, and Saban has been accused of not accepting ownership for the loss, choosing instead to focus on the rule changes to the draft grades.

Saban admitted later in an ESPN Radio interview that Ohio State had played well in the playoff game, and Alabama less so, yet critics have continued to link his comments to his complaint against the draft rules changes, in spite of the fact that all teams are equally affected and Alabama has managed to successfully clinch three national championships when the rules remained the same.
