Ohio State Wearing Black Uniforms Saturday Against Penn State

Ohio State is asking fans to wear black for a black out against Penn State Saturday night in the Shoe. The team will be wearing their new black uniforms for the first time. The team might be distracted by the uniform change but they are feeling great about their new two quarterback scheme that worked wonders against Maryland last week.

Cardale jones started every series and played until the team reached the red-zone. He put up 291 yards which is a career high for him. JT Barrett took over in the red-zone, where the Buckeyes have had trouble this year, and the team scored all six times. Barrett ran for 3 touchdowns and threw for another two. Meyer did not confirm that the team will use this exact game plan again on Saturday but it seems like the way forward for the nationally ranked #1 team. Barrett's ability to run is the x-factor that makes them hard to guard when they get close to the end-zone. While Jones has the deep threat pass that helps them create explosive plays farther away.

This will be the sixth year that Ohio State has sported alternative uniforms designed by Nike in one game. The original black design was rejected by OSU but the uniforms that will be worn this weekend will have bright scarlet numbers and pant stripes which were not originally in place. The team feels that uniforms have an impact on recruiting as young players like to come out in something different than the traditional uniforms.
