Rodjay Burns Joins the Buckeye 2016 Class

Rodjay Burns visited over the weekend and committed to Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes. He flipped from Louisville, his home town team, to Ohio State after sitting down with his parents.

A 3 star cornerback from Trinity High School. He is underrated at only 3 stars. He’s a big corner at 6’2”, the kind of corner that Ohio State likes. He played safety this past season in high school, so he is versatile as a defensive back. The coaches really showed Burns how much they need him on the team and how the plan to use him when he arrives in the fall.

Burns had 22 tackles and 4 picks in his senior season. He also played wide receiver with 744 yards and 14 touchdowns. His senior year performance really got the Buckeyes interested.

Ohio State was looking for 2 defensive backs for the 2016 class going into the weekend. They are still waiting for either Jordan Fuller or Damar Hamlin. They did not offer Burns a scholarship until December but really needed to land a corner this weekend. Also at defensive back in the OSU 2016 class are safety Jahsen Wint, corner Wayne Davis, and corner Kareem Felder.
