Non-Conference Games Should Be Interesting

By Ryan Leonardo

Youngstown State comes to Columbus on August 30th, (BTN, Noon) as well as Utah coming to Ann Arbor.  Northern Illinois travels to Minnesota in what might be a good one.  The remainder of kick-off Saturday is as follows---

Western Kentucky at Indiana, BTN, 12:00 p.m. EDT
Maine at Iowa, BTN, 11:00 a.m. CDT
Syracuse at Northwestern, ESPN / ESPN2, 11:00 a.m. CDT
Coastal Carolina at Penn State, BTN, 12:00 p.m. EDT
Akron at Wisconsin, BTN, 11:00 a.m. CDT

September 6th

The Buckeyes host the Bobcats of Ohio University (ESPN, Noon).  The Redhawks of Miami visit the Big House, and Oregon State meets with Penn State in Happy Valley.

Eastern Illinois at Illinois, BTN, 11:00 a.m. CDT
Florida International at Iowa, BTN, 11:00 a.m. CDT
Eastern Michigan at Michigan State, BTN, 12:00 p.m. EDT
Northern Colorado at Purdue, BTN, 12:00 p.m. EDT
Marshall at Wisconsin, BTN, 11:00 a.m. CDT
Murray State at Indiana, BTN, 7:00 p.m. EDT

September 13th (AKA Judgment Day)

Buckeye Faithful know what this night game with USC means.  Here’s the prelude…

Louisiana-Lafayette at Illinois, BTN, 11:00 a.m. CDT
Iowa State at Iowa,  BTN, 11:00 a.m. CDT
Florida Atlantic at Michigan State, ESPN / ESPN2, 12:00 p.m. EDT
Montana State at Minnesota, BTN , 11:00 a.m. CDT
Southern Illinois at Northwestern, BTN, 11:00 a.m. CDT
Oregon at Purdue, ABC, 3:30 p.m. EDT

I look at the calendar everyday and this date jumps off of the page and turns my stomach with excitement, as if I was 12 years old ascending a rollercoaster.

September 20th

It is ironic that Troy comes to play at the ‘shoe, just after the Buckeyes play the Trojans.  The most intriguing game this Saturday is the Notre Dame at Michigan State game.  Weis better bring it to East Lansing or he’ll get blown out of the stadium.

Florida Atlantic at Minnesota, BTN, 11:00 a.m. CDT
Ohio at Northwestern, BTN, 11:00 a.m. CDT
Temple at Penn State, BTN, 12:00 p.m. EDT
Central Michigan at Purdue, BTN, 12:00 p.m. EDT
Notre Dame at Michigan State, ABC, 3:30 p.m. EDT
Ball State at Indiana, BTN, 7:00 p.m. EDT

The Big Ten Network has taken over the first four weeks.  Let’s hope that the coverage and commentary is better than last year.
