Basketball dominates Spain
The USA Basketball took their biggest competitors for Gold
to task last night beating Spain
them soundly 119-82 in Beijing.
Spain
is the defending world champions and expected to contend for a metal again.

Lebron Leads
Lebron
James led the way for the USA
with 18 points. The team went up by 20 points in the 2nd quarter and
didn’t look back. The defense was great and the offense flowed from the
turnovers created. A number of breakaways and three point shots tipped the
scales early for the USA.
Turnovers
Lebron
James, Dwayne Wade and Kobe Bryant all had superior defensive performances
against a team that has a number of NBA players. Their smothering defense
limited Spain’s
ability to score all game long and their 28 turnovers. Kobe
has been matched up against each team’s top offensive weapon and played well
against Jose Calderon and Rudy Fernandez for Spain.
Coach Kryzsewski
The team
has been able to stop back cuts thanks to some great coaching by Coach K and
his staff. In past Olympic performances teams have been able to pass the ball
behind the defense. But that has not been the case with the Redeem Team in 2008.
