Corey Brown Commits to the Buckeyes

A rare occasion happened this weekend in Columbus Ohio. Not losing a game to a top ranked team, but getting a commitment from a top rated recruit on a game day weekend. Corey Brown a 6’0” 185 lbs running back/wide receiver from Springfield, Pennsylvania became the 13th member of the 2010 class for Ohio State. He selected the Buckeyes over offers from almost every major program in the country including Alabama, Florida, Miama, Notre Dame, and Penn State.

Corey Brown is rated the 6th best player at his position nationally and a member of Rivals Top 100 recruits in the country for 2010. He could play either running or wide receiver for the Buckeyes who already have depth in the class at both spots. At running back they have the 4th best back in the nation in Roderick Smith. And at wide receiver they have a pair in James Louis from Delray Beach Florida and Tyrone Williams from East Cleveland.

Brown was on an official visit to the school over the weekend and liked very much what he saw. Miami (FL) was rumored to be his favorite program going into the visit but the one trip to Columbus changed his mind. Not only the school and the campus impressed Brown but the atmosphere at the Horseshoe in front of 106,000 screaming fans made an impression.
