Michael Bennett Centerville Highlights Are Many And Are Impressive.

When big number 63 from Centerville Ohio committed to Ohio State University this week he left 34 other coaches and recruiters looking for another premed scholar that can run a 4.9 40 and can hit your tight end in the flat like a cross town bus from downtown Dayton.  On May 17th Michael Bennett became the 15th player from this Western Ohio high school to secure a place on the OSU roster. The Centerville High School Elks football team has a long and strong tradition of creating first class football players that often go on to the NFL; and it seems Michael is going to be the latest link in the chain of that long tradition.

Michael Bennett 2011 Offensive/Defensive Lineman Highlights

By Steve Patterson

Michael is a large young man tipping the scales out at just less than 270 pounds and stretching all the way up to 6’-3”.  His large size belies his quickness and his explosive agility.  In addition to his quick 40 yard stats he has 400lb squat and a nearly 30 vertical leap.  He also possesses a 315 bench press; impressive by any ones standards.

He began the season on the offensive line and last fall was tapped by the Elks coaching staff to play both sides of the ball.  In his career with the Elks program he has captured many awards that speak to his hard work and tenacity as a student player.  He has been 1st team all conference, 1st team all district, offensive player of the year for the conference as well as 1st team all district.  In the eyes of his Elks coach his double duties will most likely continue when he finally hits the field at OSU after his High School graduation in 2011.

Michael maintains a 3.3 GPA at Centerville and looks to study for some type of Medical degree when he gets to the Buckeyes campus in the fall next year
