Ejuan Price Commits To The Buckeye Football Team

Jim Tressel and the Ohio State Buckeyes football team have landed a verbal commitment from prized recruit Ejuan Price. On Monday, January 17, Price committed to Coach Tressel during a recruitment visit by Tressel to Price's Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania home. With no fanfare or drama Price sent a text message to interested reporters news of his decision shortly after making his commitment to the Buckeye football team. The low key announcement is an accurate reflection of Price's business-like attitude and personality. Ohio State first started expressing interest in Price during his Junior season and patiently waited for him to explore his options.

The Woodland Hills Linebacker had earlier narrowed his choice to Ohio State and its Big Ten Conference rival University of Iowa. He had also received scholarship offers from Michigan State, West Virgina, Rutgers, Maryland, Syracuse and his hometown University of Pittsburgh. He joins a promising class of recruits that includes Doran Grant, Michael Bennet and Braxton Miller. The successful recruitment of Price continues the recent trend of Ohio State landing top Pennsylvania football talent.

During his high school football career Price displayed impressive athleticism and a fierce desire to tackle opposing ball carriers. The middle linebacker showed great instinct as he repeatedly fought through traffic to make knock down tackles and was a constant presence in the backfield of opposing offenses. An aggressive and devastating tackler, Price has drawn favorable comparisons to outgoing Buckeye linebacker Brian Rolle.

Due to Ohio State's outstanding depth at linebacker Price will not be immediately forced into the Buckeye starting lineup and may even red-shirt his first year. His first impact may be on special teams where his excellent speed, strong tackling technique and ability to shed blockers could prove to be an instant hit. With his excellent pass coverage abilities Price may be able to quickly work his way into the defensive lineup for long yardage situations. With his athleticism and workman-like attitude Ejuan Price should prove to a valuable asset for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
