The Ohio State Spring Game will Be Different This Year
Not really a game this year, the 2011 Spring Camp finale will be a practice/scrimmage of the first string offense against the first string defense with some extra point plays thrown in. Due to a lack of players at some positions and the offensive line in particular, Jim Tressel has made the call to skip a traditional game for a ‘scrimmage’. The scoring will be different from what most fans are familiar with but the program hopes it will be just as entertaining this Saturday.

Seniors look forward to the Spring Game as they are split in half and draft the underclassmen by position, at least for most Spring camp finales. This year Spring camp started with 9 offensive lineman, two walk-ons were added, but injury and possible injury have led to this new format. Other schools in the conference have done the same this year too, unable to fill two teams with enough players to compete.
Jersey’s are on the line Saturday with the defense trying to win back the scarlet jerseys for fall practice.
