James Clark is rated the 45th best receiver in the country by Rivals.com, a 4 star recruit, he had offers from over 25 programs. He visited Purdue (who used to be able to recruit receivers), Northwestern, Nebraska, Clemson and Ohio State on the 25th of January. Tim Horton was his main contact within the Buckeye staff. Recruited for his speed, the 5’1” play maker brings the big play ability Meyer has been searching for since he arrived in Columbus before last season.
On the football field Clark has shown the ability to stretch defenses with great acceleration and quick route changes. In track he is one of the fastest in the state of Florida. As a senior he put up 1,112 yards averaging 23 yards a catch. He’s a treat every time that he touches the ball. Jalin Marshall, Dontre Wilson and Clark all present great open field speed that can scare the opposition. Look for these three to get early playing time this fall on special teams or in the slot position on offense.
