Iowa #4 (12-0) comes into the Big Ten Championship Game undefeated to play Michigan State #5 (11-1) this weekend in Indianapolis at Lucas Field Stadium. Kick off is at 7:17pm (Central) on Fox.

Iowa had an historic season and the players feel hard work in the off season is one reason they were able to run the table. This is there first season 12-0 and their first opportunity to play in the Big Ten Title game. They beat Nebraska this past weekend after clinching a spot for the West division in the Championship game beating Purdue the week before.

Michigan State is looking confident coming out of a victory against Ohio State and Penn State. Connor Cook is a big time prospect that has a number of big wins under his belt while Iowa has an unknown player in CJ Beathard leading them, and they didn’t beat anyone too difficult to get to the title match.

Michigan State played Penn State this past weekend, earning a spot for the East division. Ohio State #6 (11-1) had hoped for a Penn State upset so they could get into the Championship game but they were left out due to the head-to-head loss to MSU. Michigan State likes to play physical, running the ball and stopping the run. Iowa feels that they are a similar team and can compete at the same level. Michigan State has played in the conference title three of the last five games. They probably feel that they have an advantage with the number of appearances they have already made.

Whoever wins this weekend will be in the BCS (College Football) playoff. Big Ten analyst Jerry Palm has Ohio State playing Houston (go figure) in the Fiesta Bowl this bowl season. Iowa playing Stanford in the Rose Bowl and Michigan State up against Alabama in the Cotton Bowl.
