Reid Fragel broke down recruiting on Monday night, what he
is looking for in a college program, who were his favorites, and who had
offered.
By Steve Patterson
Reid Fragel committed to Ohio State
on Tuesday night becoming the 15th member of the 2009 class. Fragel
is a big athletic tight end that is set and staying at the position when he
comes to Columbus
next year. He had made a number of other visits before making his decision but
felt that Ohio State stood a top all the other schools.
“I have made visits to several other schools in the past year or so, I think
that there are very few schools that can compare to OSU and its facilities.” He
told us.
The deciding factors for Fragel
were the winning tradition at Ohio
State and the environment
that he got a feel for when he came to campus. “When I look at a college, I
look at the team prestige and its ability to win. Also the overall
environment/feel for the school is a big factor.” He explained about Ohio State.
Other schools that had offered a
scholarship included Michigan State (a hometown favorite), Wisconsin, and Purdue. “The schools that
have offered me so far are: Ohio State, Michigan State, Wisconsin,
Purdue, Maryland,
Miami (OH), and Cincinnati.”
He reported to us.
At the time prior to his
commitment to the Buckeyes, Fragel was favoring Michigan
State and Ohio State
over his other offers. “My two favorite schools are Ohio
State and Michigan State
right now, and I like the environment at the two schools as well as the ability
to win.”
