Justin Green Gives
the Buckeye Coaches a Call
Justin Green was on campus June 20th for Ohio State’s
senior advance camp and had a good opportunity to discuss with the coaches his
offer and how they will use him as a Buckeye.

The Program and
History
Ohio State
has everything Justin Green was looking for in a college program so he
committed to the Buckeyes shortly after his camp visit in June. “The program
and the history itself drew me to the commitment.” He told us late last week
about his commitment to OSU. “Also experiencing my brother (DT Marcus Green) play
for the Buckeyes was huge for me. I loved the games and the atmosphere and fell
in love with the university at a young age.”
He made three calls shortly
after his June visit to Columbus from Louisville
Kentury where he is a star cornerback and running back for Male High School.
“I called Coach Tavor Johnson, Coach Heacock and Coach Tressel. I told all of
them that I enjoyed the camp and wanted to be a Buckeye and committed over the
phone.” He reported.
Coming in as a Cornerback
Although he had a great junior year
at running back, Ohio
State has a number of
very good backs already in the 2009 class and has recruited Green as a
cornerback. “I want to play defensive back and get involved in the offense if
possible. But where ever I’m needed on the field I will play.” He explained
about his position assignment when he joins the Buckeyes. Green is ranked the
67th best prospect overall in the country by Rivals.com and the 6th
best cornerback nationally.
The 2009 class is being
recruited by a number of prospects already in the class and Green discussed his
commitment with all three in Whiting, Bellamy, and Wood. “Yes I have been in
contact with Jordan Whiting, Adam Bellamy, and Jamie Wood so far.” Green told
us about his contact with other members of his class.
Six Outstanding Defensive Backs
“Around June more than likely, I
will enroll.” Green told us about waiting to enroll until June of 2009. When he
enrolls, he’ll be joined by a number of great defensive backs in CJ Barnett,
Dominic Clarke, Bradley McDougald, Jamie Wood and Corey Brown. These six
defensive backs make up one of the best backfields recruited by Coach Tressel
since becoming head coach of the Buckeyes in 2001.
