Ohio State v Michigan 2012

Michigan football travels to Columbus this weekend to take on the undefeated Buckeyes who hope to close out their year without a loss. In Urban Meyers first year with the team, the bowl ineligible team hopes to make a case for a top ranking at the end of the year by going undefeated during the regular season. Michigan can still sneak into the Big Ten Championship game depending on how Nebraska plays against Iowa this weekend.

The game will start at noon on ABC and will feature the running attack of Ohio State ranked 2nd in the league and 9th in the country. Quarterback Braxton Miller and running back Carlos Hyde are the one to punch that teams have trouble getting off the field. Their passing game isn’t the best but it hasn’t needed to be so far this year. The feature an opportunistic defense that plays better than the stats suggest.

Michigan is keeping their starting quarterback unnamed and might run a similar offense to what they ran last weekend. Devin Gardner has started at the position the last three weeks and has done a great job. Roy Roundtree has come alive during that period with the better passing game under Gardner. When Robinson returned from an injury he came back as a wide receiver/running back and made the offensive extremely dynamic.

Michigan’s defense has had trouble at times this year and struggles against talented running teams like Ohio State. Home field advantage might push the Buckeyes over the top in this close Rivalry Weekend match-up.
