Gateway Sends Corey Brown with Bell

Who could have imagined the best two players from Monroeville Gateway coming to Ohio State in 2009? Dorian Bell started the pipeline with cornerback/wide-receiver Corey Brown following him early this week.

One Heck of a Class

So money recruits in so quick a pace with credentials better than almost every other class in the country, Ohio State is on a roll. 22 recruits already for the 2009 class with over 7 months left to go before National Letter of Intent Signing Day. Seeing these numbers so early and the level of talent being as good as the best of Tressel, 2002 and 2008, is remarkable. At the top of the class is Gateway High School Linebacker Dorian Bell, rated as one of the best in the country. But right behind him is the eighth best cornerback in the country from the same high school program in Monroeville Pennsylvania, Corey Brown.

Not Going to Pitt or Penn State

Surprisingly these Pennsylvania recruits aren’t staying at home and attending Pittsburgh or Penn State. But Jim Tressel and his staff have been able to go into neighboring Michigan and Pennsylvania and pull out some incredible talent. The renovated Woody Hayes facility, the coaching staff, the academics, the fans, the history, the current recruits, and the current players, Add up everything that Ohio State has to offer and the high school players are wowed when they come to visit.

Brown Makes the Call

Corey Brown held a press conference at his school on Monday to make the announcement with friends and family present that he would be a Buckeye. He mentioned all the things that make Ohio State the place to be, academics, the coaches, the facilities, the tradition, the players, and the chance to win a National Championship.
