Posey takes the State
Title in the 400m
Cincinnati Ohio LaSalle senior Devier Posey won the state
title in the 400 meters and came in fourth in the 100 meters and the 200
meters. It was the last time Posey will compete in the 400 meters as he plans
to play wide receiver exclusively at Ohio
State in the fall.

Big Receiver with
Speed
Posey at 6'3" and 190lbs has
been known more as a possession receiver who can catch the higher thrown balls
from Terrelle Pryor in the end zone or for shorter gains when a first down is
needed. But his performance coming from behind to win the 400 meters has
changed people’s minds about him. Maybe he’s the long out route runner similar
Ted Ginn Jr making the big play outrunning slower defensive backs on the
outside.
This incoming class or Posey, Jake
Stoneburner, and Lamaar Thomas should be electrifying over the next three to
fours years at Ohio
State.
Jim Tressel
Ohio State
Head Coach Jim Tressel was asked after the competion his impression of Posey. “DeVier
is not just an outstanding football player but a talented athlete in many
disciplines; not just his speed but the dedication he has shown toward track
will be of great help to him in collegiate football,” Tressel was quoted by
media on site. “He is a quality young man and we look forward to his arrival
with the rest of our freshmen class on campus in a few weeks.”
