The Buckeyes enter the game ranked No. 2 in the AP Poll while the Terrapins are unranked.
However, Ohio State has to remain unbeaten to get to the Michigan game. Maryland was defeated by Penn State 30-0 the previous week. It was the surprising outcome that resulted from an offense and it has been a standout one from the Terps. Maryland scored 10 points during the last two games. OHIO STATE FOOTBALL NEWS
With three weeks left in the regular season and trailing only No. 1 ranked Georgia, Ohio State's Coach Ryan Day is under pressure to explain the Buckeye’s weak rushing attack. In this week’s press conference, Day attempted just that. "Reviewing tape, we all need to do better. We've got to block better, we've got to run better. We know we can do a better job."
Playing conditions were a factor for Ohio State last week against Northwestern. Wind gusts as a high as 80 MPH interfered with passing opportunities.
Last year Ohio State won 54 – 7 keeping their 26 game win streak against the Hoosiers alive, so they’re heavily favored in this weekend’s matchup. This is an opportunity for the Buckeye’s to address weaknesses as a battle against the third ranked Wolverines looms large.
Indiana vs. No. 2 Ohio State preview | The Joel Klatt Show
Look for C. J. Stroud to bounce back strong after last week’s dismal performance. Indiana’s porous defense should allow Stroud to re-solidify his case for the Heisman.

How are the teams doing?
Northwestern is a team that has been struggling this year. They started the season with a win in Dublin, Ireland against Nebraska but have lost every game since. They are currently 1-7 and not having a very good year. The Wildcats will be facing off against the Ohio State Buckeyes this week. The Buckeyes are 8-0 and ranked 2nd in the country. The Wildcats will need to bring their A game if they want to beat this dominant team on Saturday.
Who are the coaches?
The head coaches of both teams are Ryan Day (Ohio State) and Pat Fitzgerald (Northwestern). Both coaches have been with their respective teams for over half a decade. However, since taking over as head coach for the Buckeyes, Ryan Day has been undefeated against the Wildcats. His record is 42-4 overall and he hopes to continue the streak against Northwestern on Saturday.
In contrast, Pat Fitzgerald has not won any of the 8 games against Ohio State. His overall record as head coach is 110-97 but he's looking to turn things around this year after losing 9 games last season alone!
Who are the players to watch?
Northwestern: QB Brendan Sullivan, RB Evan Hull, WR Malik Washington, LB Xander Mueller
Northwestern has a lot of talent on offense, but their struggles have been well-documented. QB Brendan Sullivan has thrown for 302 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions over his last two games vs. Maryland and Iowa.
The running game involving RB Evan Hull, who rushed for 1,009 yards last season, has also been underwhelming. Last season, he averaged 5.1 yards per carry, but that has dropped to 4.3 yards per attempt this year.
Ohio State: QB C.J. Stroud, RB Miyan Williams, RB TreVeyon Henderson, WR Marvin Harrison Jr., TE Cade Stover, DE J.T. Tuimoloau
The Buckeye offense has been led by QB C.J. Stroud, who is the top-rated passer in the nation in TDs (29) and passing efficiency (200.2). His favorite target, WR Marvin Harrison Jr., is also having a career year with 48 catches for 783 yards and 10 touchdowns. We all saw how often he went the Harrison Jr when they needed a first down against Penn State last week.
How will the game turn out?
The Buckeyes have been on a tear lately. Ohio State has scored 20 or more points in 69 consecutive games, and that is now tied for the longest such streak in FBS history. The Buckeyes will try to extend their record-setting run this Saturday when they face Northwestern at Ryan Field in Evanston, Illinois. It's a game that could have major implications on not only the Big Ten East title race but also the College Football Playoff picture.
Whether Ohio State can run the ball - which it has struggled with in the last two weeks against Iowa and Penn State - or not, the Buckeyes are still scoring points. Miyan Williams had to exit the game early last weekend and the team couldn't get TreVeyon Henderson going until the final two drives when he was able to showcase his speed through space.

Ohio State vs Iowa Football 2022
Yes, you know it - this weekend is the Buckeyes versus the Hawkeyes! It's the battle of the Eyes when these two Big Ten teams meet!
Where is Ohio State vs Iowa Football
Ohio State is hosting this contest in Ohio Stadium in Columbus Ohio.. The Ohio State Buckeyes are looking very strong this year, ranked as #2 as we begin the second half of the season. The Buckeyes are sporting a perfect record and are all rested up after a bye week. The Hawkeyes are 3-3 overall, but only one and two in the Big Ten. The Hawkeyes may not be headed for the same Big Ten Championship game that the Buckeyes are gunning for. Unless the Hawkeyes can pull off this upset!
Game time is Saturday, October 22nd, at high noon Eastern time. The game will be broadcast on Fox networks. FuboTV and other services will be getting the game out to anyone who can't see Fox.
Someone somewhere is still selling and trying to buy tickets for Ohio Stadium, good luck to them all! There are still many tickets left on Ticketmaster, running around 50$ a pop. The tickets can be sent electronically, other vendors may have some as well.
All big ten college games have emotional fans and pageantry, along with long, contested history. Personally, we are huge fans of the Ohio State marching band, which is sure to perform at the highest level!
Coaches and Players to Watch
The coaches in this matchup are led by Coach Ryan Day, who seems to be focused on gaining a Heisman trophy for his star quarterback, C.J. Stroud. For Iowa, Coach Kirk Ferentz is known for his defense, which is well ranked, allowing only 265 yards per game. The star of the Iowa defense is Jack Campbell, the AP Preseason All-American. He led the Hawkeyes this year to tie a record from back in 1933, where the Hawkeyes allowed ten points or fewer in five of the team's six games.
The best chance for the Hawkeyes would be if Ohio State is looking right past them. In the last meeting between the two teams, back in 2017, the Hawkeyes were 20 point unranked underdogs against Ohio State's #6 ranking. The Hawkeyes thrashed the Buckeyes with a 55-24 beating!
Coach Day has been going over this with his team, that was a very long day for the Buckeyes!! Over the long term, the Buckeyes usually won the contests.
How Will The Game Go
This year, the Hawkeyes will need some points from their defense to win. The Hawkeye's offense has been dismal, The running game averages only 82 yards per game. The Hawkeye quarterback, Spencer Patras is ranked seventh worst with his 52% completion rate and only two touchdowns.

Ohio State vs Michigan State Football 2022
Ohio State looks to maintain their position in the rankings as they head to East Lansing this weekend. Ohio State vs Michigan State football games feature a lopsided record for the series. With 50 games already played, the Buckeyes lead the series with a 35-15 record.
Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Michigan will host the 51st contest with the Spartans as heavy underdogs (+26.5). Michigan State began the season 2-0 with wins over Western Michigan and Akron. Since then, the collapse has epic with losses to Washington, Minnesota, and Maryland. In the last two games, the offense only managed to score a combined 20 points. Head Coach Mel Tucker faces an unenviable task of resetting the season against one of the best teams in the nation.
The Ohio State Buckeyes face the opposite situation. After a sluggish start to the season in their first game against Notre Dame, the offense has looked unstoppable. The Irish held them to only 21 points, but the Buckeyes scored 223 points in the next three games. Granted, two of the games were against poor opponents (Arkansas State and Toledo); however, they scored 52 against Wisconsin and 49 versus a much improved Rutgers team.
Players to watch
CJ Stroud is the obvious choice for this game. The Ohio State quarterback leads ESPN's Heisman Watch. Stroud is getting better with each passing week. Taking on a Michigan State defense that is allowing 275 passing yards a game will only open up the playbook for his two great receivers, Emeka Egbuka and Marvin Harrison Jr.
Running back Miyan Williams for Ohio State is also slated to have a big game. Williams ran for 189 yards against a Rutgers defense which only allowed 226 yards in the previous four games combined. The Spartans will have to pick their poison this week. Whichever offensive superstar they try to stop, the other is poised for a huge day.
On the other side of the field, pay attention to Jacoby Windmon. The transfer from UNLV started the season with a massive performance against Western Michigan as he collected four sacks in the game for the Spartans. Windmon added one and half more sacks against Akron, but has seemingly gone missing in action for the last three loss. Michigan State will need a big performance if they hope to stymie the Buckeyes offense.
How to watch the game
If you are in the East Lansing area, there a still a ton of tickets available for the game. Ticketmaster and all of the secondary event ticket sellers have availability. You can take in the game and enjoy some nice fall weather with forecasts calling for a high of 57 and mostly sunny skies.
For everyone else, the game will be on at 4pm, October 8 on ABC.

Ohio State Faces off Rutgers this Weekend!
It's going to be an exciting weekend as Ohio State Football vs Rutgers faceoff this Sunday, October 2nd! The Horseshoe in Columbus Ohio is the host site for 3:30pm kickoff. Take a look at tickets on the TicketNetwork if you still want to watch it in person.
It's always interesting to hear about the upcoming Ohio State match from people who are already a part of the OSU community. We try our best to contribute and stay up with the excellent analysis and information on the Buckeye beat.
Head coach Greg Schiano of Rutgers is the most significant link between the Scarlet Knights and the Buckeyes. From 2016 through 2018, Schiano served as the defensive coach for the Buckeyes. Once Urban Meyer departed the club mid-season, he collaborated with the Ryan Day transfer.
Like his rival, head coach Ryan Day of Ohio State appreciated his group. Even though the Buckeyes are the frontrunners, Day praised Schiano.
Despite Rutgers' outstanding run defense, this game is a complete discrepancy. Each game Ohio State has faced versus Rutgers has seen them score around 49 and 58 points. Within these matchups, Rutgers has managed 11 points. It isn't like Rutgers is still being persecuted for having a poor team in 1922 since these matches have also been spread out across the last seven seasons.
The healthy rivalry between these two teams has spanned for decades, and they're at it once more. Here are some predictions and highlights you should expect for this thrilling matchup!
Ohio State vs Rutgers Predictions
In the previous week's match against Iowa, Rutgers quarterback Evan Simon threw for three hundred yards. Rutgers will start aggressively because they have hardly anything to lose and may even dominate possession on the pass, primarily because OSU's secondary is still dealing with specific chronic injuries. However, statistics point to a multiple touchdown performance for a Buckeye receiver.
The third most successful team in the nation, the Buckeyes, have been thrashing their adversaries. The Scarlet Knights are not expected to compete against OSU, which opened with a 40.5 home advantage in their Big Ten matchup, according to the latest collegiate football wagering lines.
As the match draws closer, Ohio State's new strategy becomes more straightforward: defend the quarterback while letting him pass to what appears to become the most outstanding wide receiver group in collegiate football. Rutgers probably wouldn't be able to be doing much more significant if a strong Wisconsin defense really can not prevent the Buckeyes from scoring 52 points.
Expected Match Results
CJ Stroud and his benchmarks will easily open lanes downfield to obtain a fast lead, which can spin the Knights' front seven overtime to end things off between Henderson and Williams wanting to run the clock down.
Schiano appears to be aware of the difficult task awaiting his team this weekend as the Knights prepare to enter Ohio Stadium for the homecoming match.

As part of the list of Heisman finalists, football fanatics shouldn’t be surprised that he’s one of the most anticipated players of the match. Furthermore, Stroud was able to throw more than 4,000 yards during the previous season, proving his capabilities as an outstanding athlete that could be a future member of the NFL.

No 3 Ohio State vs Arkansas State 2022
College Football - September 10, 2022 - #3 Ohio State (1-0) vs. Arkansas State (1-0)
The college football season is in full swing, heading into its 2nd week with most of the top teams in action in out-of-conference matchups. Coming off an important opening season victory against Notre Dame, the Ohio State Buckeyes face off against the Arkansas State Red Wolves of the Sun Belt Conference. Like Ohio State, Arkansas State is coming off an opening season win, soundly defeating the Grambling State Tigers 58-3.
Players to Watch - Ohio State
C.J. Stroud (QB)
A redshirt sophomore stud who is widely expected to take home the Heisman Trophy this season, C.J. Stroud will be the key to Ohio State not suffering a letdown after a huge win against Notre Dame to open the season. After throwing for 4,435 yards and 44 touchdowns last season, Stroud picked up where he left off, completing 24 of 34 passes for 233 yards, 2 touchdowns, and no turnovers against Notre Dame. Look for Stroud to come out firing early in the game to deliver a quick knockout punch.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR)
The best wide receiver in the country among arguably the most talented receiver core in the country, Jaxon Smith-Njigba tied an Ohio State record last season with 5 consecutive 100-yard receiving games. Ohio State will look to target Smith-Njigba early and often to get him back on track after a disappointing opening performance against Notre Dame.
Zach Harrison (DE)
Although he has not accumulated the stats as some of the other 5-star defensive end recruits that have dominated Ohio State's defensive line for the last several years, Zach Harrison has nonetheless had a very productive career. It is doubtful that Arkansas State will be able to prevent Harrison from getting at least 1 sack during the game.
Players to Watch - Arkansas State
James Blackman (QB)
Originally starting his career with Florida State, James Blackman transferred to Arkansas State last year and threw for 1,334 yards and 8 touchdowns in 6 games. If Arkansas is going to make any significant improvements from its disastrous 2-10 record last season, it will most likely have to come from Blackman having a great senior season. Blackman must be calm, composed, accurate, and not afraid to take shots down the field to compete with Ohio State.
Kivon Bennett (LB/DE)
One of the few bright spots on one of the nation's worst defenses last season, Kivon Bennett ended the year with 58 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and 15.5 tackles for a loss. He must be able to generate large amounts of pressure on C.J. Stroud and the Ohio State offensive line to slow down the nearly unstoppable Ohio State offense.
Coaching Matchup - Ryan Day (Ohio State) vs. Butch Jones (Arkansas State)
Since taking over for the legendary Urban Meyer at the start of the 2019 season, Ryan Day has amassed an impressive 32-4 record, including an incredible 22-1 record in the Big Ten. He has been able to build a nearly flawless offensive system at Ohio State, built on the great collection of talent that he has been repeatedly able to recruit.
Butch Jones has had a moderate amount of success over a 15-year coaching career, most notably coaching the Tennessee Volunteers for 5 seasons, where he was able to have back-to-back 9-win seasons in 2015 and 2016. His first season at Arkansas State did not go very well, as the Red Wolves were in the midst of a rebuilding year, going just 2-10.
The game will be played at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, the home stadium for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
How to Get Tickets
Tickets can be purchased through several different outlets including stub hub.com, vivid seats.com, and Ticketmaster.com.
How to Watch
The game will be broadcast live on cable tv via the Big Ten Network as well as on streaming devices via several different outlets including Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Roku, Android TV, and more.
Ohio State is currently favored by 43.5 points according to FanDuel Sportsbook. They will most likely cruise to an easy victory, although Arkansas State probably will be able to keep the game a little closer than expected.
Final Score: Ohio State 45 - Arkansas State 14

Ohio State vs Notre Dame 2022
Ohio State vs Notre Dame is the headline game of week one of college football. Preseason ranked three and five respectively, this is an early clash between teams who are expected to be contenders at the end of the season. There are several storylines and players to watch during Ohio State vs Notre Dame.
Coaches in the Spotlight
Marcus Freeman enters his first season as head coach of Notre Dame. The former Ohio State linebacker was the defensive coordinator for the Irish last season but now takes over the team with the departure of Brian Kelly. Freeman led Notre Dame against Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl. They lost a close game to begin his head coaching career.
As for Ohio State, Ryan Day enters his fifth season as head coach of the Buckeyes. Day has amassed an impressive record of 34-4. Last season, he was well on his way to another playoff berth before Michigan finally showed up in their big annual contest. Ohio State had to settle for a win in the Rose Bowl which ended their season with a rank of six.
Players to Watch
While the coaching unknowns of Freeman plays a part, the talent on the field is clearly skewed towards Ohio State with three preseason All-American selections (RB TreVeyon Henderson, WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, OT Paris Johnson). Plus, they return quarterback C.J. Stroud who put together a phenomenal season last year with 4435 yards, 44 touchdown passes, and a completion percentage of 71.9%.
Tyler Buchner is a first year starter at quarterback has big shoes to fill. Jack Coan put together a strong season that helped lead the team to an 11-2 record. Coan graduated and was recently waived by the Indianapolis Colts. There are returning offensive leaders to help Buchner with TE Michael Mayer, OL Jarrett Patterson, and Braden Lenzy. They will need a solid performance from the defense led by Isaiah Foskey, J.D. Bertrand, and Jack Kiser. Al Golden, who replaces Freeman as defensive coordinator, needs to have the troops ready to perform.
Ohio State Heavy Favorites
Day and Buckeyes come into this game as heavy favorites. Most lines list Notre Dame as 17.5 point underdogs. Freeman will need to get the most out of his players to compete in this game. There are simply too many unknowns for Notre Dame to keep the line close. Ohio State will look to make a statement with a big win against a top five opponent which will help propel them up the board early in the season.
While there are still tickets available for Ohio State vs Notre Dame on third party sites, you will pay heavily for the chance to watch the game live. Tickets in the "cheap seats" are topping $250. If you are in Ohio this weekend, you can make the game if you are willing to spend the money.

Brock Glenn (twitter) was recruited by Corey Dennis for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He took an official visit to Columbus on June 17th and committed to the program on July 30th. One of the biggest decisions in his life. He made the announcement on Youtube with 247Sports. The Ohio State coaching staff really loves the direction Glenn is headed as a quarterback.
Why Ohio State?
Glenn also visited Auburn, Florida State, and TCU. But the visit to Ohio State cleared up a lot of what the Buckeyes had to offer and made him feel at home with the team. Working with Ryan Day and Corey Dennis, Ohio State's quarterback coach, was the main reason for this selection of the Buckeyes. Had over 34 scholarship offers, is considered a 4 star prospect and the 23rd best at his position in the class nationally.
Glenn is from Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis Tennessee. He was selected by the Elite 11 Finals Roster where he got to meet CJ Stroud. Plays in a shotgun pro-style offense, has good size, and the ability to avoid tacklers in the pocket.
He averaged 150 yards per game as a Junior with 23 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He will enroll early and train in the Spring next year.
Ohio State Quarterback Room
Ohio State currently has CJ Stroud, Kyle McCord, and Devin Brown as scholarship quarterbacks on campus. Glenn is not afraid of the competition. The quarterbacks that have come out of Ohio State and made it to the NFL recently, Dwayne Haskins, Justin Fields, and Joe Borrow, made him see that OSU is able to develop top talent for the next level.

The Effects of USC and UCLA Joining the Big10
The NCAA has schools split up into conferences that determine standings, bracket position, and whole lot of cash. Historically, conferences have made up their membership based on regional location. However, in the last decade or so, we've seen conferences shifting and deals being made to support performance and financial sustainability. USC and UCLA have been members of the PAC 12 conference since the 1920's. They've been a staple of the conference that also includes Western-based universities like Stanford, Arizona State, and the University of Utah. In 2024, USC and UCLA will leaving the PAC 12 and joining the BIG 10, which is made up of mostly mid-Western states with hard-hitting reputations in the world of college sports. We're talking about Michigan, Nebraska, and Ohio State. The BIG 10 is currently comprised of 14 teams, so these two California teams will make the BIG 10, in reality, the BIG 16. The consequences for the PAC 12 could be detrimental, while the acquisition for the BIG 10 could be considered somewhat of an NCAA monopoly.
Historically, three states produce the most professional football players that go on to play in the NFL: Florida, Texas, and California. There are also more NBA players from California than any other state. Naturally, anyone looking for the next big football or basketball star would start the search in California. By USC leaving the PAC 12 and going to the BIG 10, they take with them a very large football fan base into the mid-west. The same is true for the UCLA basketball program, being consistently one of the top five teams in NCAA basketball year after year. With them moving to the BIG 10, USC and UCLA are providing the conference with an astronomical amount of fans committed to watching their favorite teams during the season. More viewers means higher ratings, and higher ratings means more money for anyone wanting a commercial spot on TV or advertisement space in the programs. More viewers also means higher ticket and merchandise prices along with the fans willing to pay them. This also means that the BIG 10 has a funnel into some of the top athletes having their eye on the NFL and NBA, boosting the BIG 10's reputation for producing professional athletes. The NCAA is a big business and the BIG 10 is playing the money game.
