Terrelle Pryor Leaves Ohio State Early

According to Terrelle Pryor’s lawyer, Larry James, Terrelle Pryor will not play for Ohio State again. Facing additional investigations and possible penalties, Pryor will try his luck with the NFL and allow the Buckeye program to progress without him. His plan is now to apply for the NFL’s supplemental draft. Being under investigation for receiving additional benefits beyond the thousands in cash from selling memorabilia, lead to this recent decision.

Gene Smith was quick to release a statement wishing Pryor the best at his next stage in life and encouraging him to return some day to complete his degree. Interim coach Luke Fickell responded with similar sentiments when provided with the information that Pryor was not returning. Many rumors have circulated that Pryor would be leaving after not following team rules routinely during his time with the team and breaking NCAA rules this past season. Chris Spielman speculated on his radio show this past week such a scenario was most likely.

Pryor was successful on the field for the majority of his career with 31 wins and two recent bowl MVP awards. His eligibility for the NFL supplemental draft is unclear at this time as only players with special situations are allowed to skip the regular draft and participate in the supplemental draft.
