Hall Adds to Buckeye OL Load

After recruiting Marcus Hall for longer than any other school, the Buckeye Coaching Staff's efforts paid off today when the 5th best offensive tackle in the country committed to play at Ohio State. The Cleveland Glenville  product worried many fans of the Buckeyes with his interest in new programs throughout the process including Miami (FL), Michigan, and most recently Tennessee. But in the end Hall adds a fourth recruit to an already packed 2009 class of offensive lineman.

Bollman a Selling Point

After taking four official visits the huge 6'6", 300 lbs, left tackle felt that Ohio State had the most to offer in all aspects. He liked the facilities at the newly renovated Woody Hayes facility but also likes the stability of the coaching staff at Ohio State. All the other programs have had coaching changes recently while Ohio State has been stable. Some in Columbus would like to see a change at the Offensive Coordinator position, but a number of offensive lineman recently have pointed out the desire to play for current OC Jim Bollman while selecting to play for the Scarlet and Gray.

The Pipeline is Intact

A number of Cleveland Glenville players have previously committed to Ohio State over the past 7 years or so since Head Coach Jim Tressel took over the program most notably wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr and Heisman quarterback Troy Smith. There are currently five players returning for OSU that graduated from Glenville and are current roster members for the Buckeyes. Defensive End Robert Rose and Offensive Tackle Bryant Browning were active in recruiting Hall. And a classmate of Halls at Glenville, Jonathon Newsome, has committed to be a Buckeye in 2009.
