Storm Klein Dismissed: No Longer a Buckeye

Coach Urban Meyer continues to have little tolerance for crimes off the field by his football players here at Ohio State. Storm Klein has been dismissed from the team after being arrested yesterday at his apartment for domestic violence and assault. Meyer made a public statement that this kind of charge will result in immediate dismissal of any player from the Buckeye team. He also left the door open that if the charges change, there could be reconsideration of the team  dismissal.

Klein pleaded not guilty to the charges but was ordered to stay away from the complainant (a former girlfriend), not consume drugs or alcohol and to not carry or be in possession of a a fire-arm. Klein stay in jail overnight and his lawyers feel good about the possibility of his return to Ohio State when/if the charges are changed. Klein’s defense is that the victim showed up at his apartment uninvited and was forcibly removed from the apartment when she began to cause havoc.

Klein was set to be the backup at middle linebacker in the fall behind sophomore Curtis Grant. The loss of Klein will thin the depth at line backer greater from an already thin set of players.
