Another Buckeye in Trouble
First Eugene Clifford for assault
and now DT Doug Worthington charged with DUI.

When it rains, it usually pours
It seems as if
the Buckeyes were staying out of legal trouble for quite some time now, besides
the Henton incident. Just three weeks
ago, Eugene Clifford was charged with assault after a fight in his hometown of Cincinnati. On Saturday morning, police pulled Worthington over right in
front of the ‘Shoe for speeding. He was
going 41mph in a 25 mph zone. Worthington is a
fourth-year junior, and is looking to build on a solid outing in 2007. He started 12 games, had 24 tackles, a sack,
and a pick. The fact that he is not even
old enough to drink adds to the problem.
Good can come of this
These athletes
need to look at the consequences of their actions and realize that they have a
great opportunity to play for the Buckeyes.
Sometimes bad decisions come without thinking, but this should serve as
a wake-up call. We are poised to make
another run at the National Title game, and this behavior will be frowned upon
by Tressel and fans alike.
Moving On
It’s always no
fun to report on bad news, but don’t shoot the messenger. Worthington
will be fine and deal with his punishment.
Hopefully the rest of the team looks at this as a serious offense, and
threat to playing time and overall career.
