Justin Green, In Ohio for Camp 

This won’t be the first time that Kentucky Cornerback prospect Justin Green visits Ohio to the campus of Ohio State. He’s been to prior camps and thinks the facilities are tremendous.

Taking No One for Granted

    Being the little brother of Ohio State alumni defensive tackle Marcus Green gives Justin Green a leg up on the competition. The nationally Top 100 cornerback will be back at Ohio State this week for the senior camp. Getting into the Top 100 requires consistent quality play and Green has the mindset of taking on each opponent the same. “I basically just play the game. I don like to show boat, I just like to play the game. I also don’t take any one lightly when its time to face them. Everyone is an All American in my mind when I line up to play which forces me to rise to the occasion.”

    Green had to sit out his sophomore season at Louisville Male but came back and impressed everyone as a junior. He told us about coming back after being gone a year. “My first game of my junior year when I got back on the field was the best part of the year.” He played running back in addition to cornerback last year and the Buckeyes see a similar role for him if he commits to play for Jim Tressel in 2009. “I had 31 touchdowns and over 2,000 all purpose yards.” He reported about his stats when he contacted him this week.

Best Facilities at Ohio State

            Green is very high already on the Buckeyes as he has spent a lot of time in Columbus with his brother Marcus. “Yes I have attended Ohio State’s summer camp. I think Ohio State is tremendous program, with a lot to offer. They have some of the best facilities, if not the best facilities.” He said about the renovated Woody Hayes facility.

Other schools are recruiting him heavily and he has made several other visits. “I have visited Miami, Tennessee, Alabama, Michigan State, Indiana, and Western Kentucky. I think they all were great and top notch programs and have great coaches.”

People Will Make the Difference

    The one thing that will stand out about the college program that Green selects will be the people. “The people of the program are most important in my mind.” He said. “I want a place with great people that will help me on and off the field. I also want a place that is makes me feel at home and comfortable.”

    The offer list is very long for the 5’11” 178lbs speedster. “Ohio State, Alabama, Tennessee, Miami(Fl), Northwestern, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Indiana, Louisville, Clemson, Michigan, Kentucky Illinois, Wake Forrest, Arkansas, Maryland, Western Kentucky, and Vanderbilt have all shown interest.” He explained to us.

    In addition to the people, he wants to see the academic side of the school that he will eventually attend. “I like, about my favorite schools, that they all have wonderful academic programs that will help you graduate. I also like the fans of each college and how they keep up with the sport and make it what it is. Also I like the tradition each program along with the hard nose coaches.” Sounds like Green could like Ohio State very much if he chooses to become the next Buckeye in the 2009 class.
