Ohio States Football 2017 Recruiting Class

Ohio State just signed one of its best classes in its history for the upcoming 2017 year. Alabama out-ranked OSU in most national recruiting rankings, but Ohio State likes its class of 21 recruits this year.

CB Jeffrey Okudah from Grande Prairie Texas is the best safety in the country and rated five stars. Some also consider Okudah the best cornerback with his exceptional cover skills. He went to the Army All American Bowl.

DE Chase Young from Hyattsville Maryland is another 5 star prospect. He is a top 10 overall recruit and a top 2 defensive end. He played in the Army All American Bowl.

OLB Baron Browning from Kennedale Texas is a 5 star recruit and considered the best outside linebacker in the country. He was the 2016 High School Butkus Award winner and played in the Army All American Bowl.

CB Shaun Wade from Jacksonville Florida is a 5 star recruit who has already enrolled at Ohio State. Won the award for the 2017 Lockheed Martin Defensive Back of the Year. And also won the USA Today Defensive Player of the Year award. He played in the Army All American Bowl.

OG Wyatt Davis from Bellflower California is a 5 star recruit and considered the best guard in the country. An US Army All American.

WR Trevon Grimes is a 4 star recruit from Fort Lauderdale Florida. Wasn’t able to finish his senior season due to a knee injury. Is considered on of the top 5 receivers in the country.

RB JK Dobbins is a 4 star recruit from La Grange Texas. An US Army All American, considered one of the top 5 running backs in the country. Also missed his senior season after an injury.

OG Josh Myers is a 4 star recruit from Miamisburg Ohio. He committed to the Buckeyes when he was a sophomore. He is the best player in the state of Ohio and the 3rd best guard in the country.

QB Tate Martell is a 4 star recruit from Las Vegas Nevada. He received the awards as the National Player of the Year by Gatorade, the Offensive Player of the Year by USA Today and National Player of the Year by MaxPreps.

S Isaiah Pryor is a 4 star recruit from Lawrenceville Georgia. Played his senior year at IMG Academy along with Marcus Williamson. Was rated the 7th best safety in the country.

DT Haskell Garrett is a 4 star recruit from Las Vegas Nevada. Played at Bishop Gorman with quarterback Tate Martell. Is ranked the 10th best tackle in the country.

S Brendon White is a 4 star recruit from Powell Ohio. Played quarterback his senior season along the defensive back. His father, William White was a 1987 captain at Ohio State before playing in the NFL.

CB Kendall Sheffield is a 4 star recruit from Missouri City Texas. He is the top rated cornerback at the Junior College level this year. He will have 3 seasons with the Buckeyes.

CB Amir Riep is a 4 star recruit from Cincinnati Ohio. Played four years at Colerain High School and received over 40 scholarship offers.

WR Jaylen Harris is a 4 star recruit from Cleveland Heights Ohio. One of the top 5 players in Ohio this year.

CB Marcus Williamson is a 4 star recruit from Westerville Ohio. Played his senior season at IMG Academy and playing three years at Westerville South.

DT Jerron Cage is a 4 star recruit from Cincinnati Ohio. Considered a top 15 defensive tackle nationally this year.

OLB Pete Werner is a 4 star recruit from Indianapolis Indiana. Played safety and cornerback in addition to linebacker in high school. His father, Greg Werner was at standout at DePauw University and played for the Philadelphia Eagles and the NY Jets.

OT Thayer Munford is a 4 star recruit from Massillon Ohio. Played for three years at LaSalle High School before transferring his senior year to Washington High School were he had to sit out most of the year.

WR Elijah Gardiner is a 3 star recruit from Kemp Texas. Rated in the top 150 receivers in the country, he shined in the final games of his high school career playing quarterback.

K Blake Haubeil is a 3 star recruit from Buffalo New York. Rated in the top 5 kickers in the 2017 class nationally.
