Ohio State NFL Combine Results

Rising:

Marcus Freeman: Freeman ran a 4.74 and was the eighth fastest linebacker at the combine. He was the tops in the vertical jump for linebackers at 37 inches and the top linebacker in the 20-yard shuttle at 4.21 seconds. And he tied at the best bench press with 30 benches of 225 lbs.

Brian Robiskie: Among receivers, Brian finished in the top 10 in three different drills; the vertical jump at 37.5 inches, the three-cone drill and the 20-yard shuttle at 4.19 seconds. He stood out in the interviews also according to scouts as he was able to easily explain most defensive coverages that he will see when he gets to the Pros.

Donald Washington: Washington excelled at the combine with his superior track skills that he carried over from high school. He was the top vertical jump among cornerbacks with 45 inches. He also had the best broad jump at the combine across all positions.

Brandon Underwood: This is the second of the Underwood brothers to come to Ohio State and leave early without playing much. He ran well at the combine with 2 different under 4.5 40 yard runs plus did well at the position drills according to reports.

Staying Put:

James Laurinaitis: Was a little slow in the 40 yard dash and his bench press didn't light up the board but he did very well in the interviews. He should still be a first round selection but scouts feel that he might have peaked at Ohio State.

Chris Wells: Did not impress but was solid with a 4.59 40 yard dash. People have added the in-ability to make defenders miss to his injury issues that he experienced during college as negatives.

Brian Hartline: Another high school track star, he performed decent at the combine while doing above average in the 3 cone drill tying for second, the 20-yard shuttle at 4.12 seconds and the 60-yard shuttle where is was the top receiver.

Falling:

Malcolm Jenkins: Scouts were waiting to see his 40 times and his first run came in at 4.59 disappointing some. His second attempt was faster at 4.53 but the slow time might make him a safety prospect for a number of teams. He performed well at everything else but the slow times lead to questions about his ability to cover the elite receivers. Although Jenkins hopes his performance on the field will lead teams to dismiss this notion.

Alex Boone: His pre-combine arrest for drunken disorderly conduct in California ruined the event before it started for the tackle. He was the fourth best bench press lineman at the combine but avoided all timed events.
