Open Practice Announced at Ohio Stadium

Ohio State is hosting their annual Fall Open Practice on August 24th for fans to see the Buckeyes in action before they begin their season against Navy on September 5th. The event began some 3-4 years ago with autographs being offered underneath the stadium seating. That was quite a mess as 10,000 fans showed up and created a crowd that could not get the autographs they so desired. Every year since they have tweaked the format.

By Steve Patterson

This year features a 6:30 pm gate opening with a 7:30 pm practice. There is no admission and seating is first come first served. Unlike prior years, there will be no player autographs this year. But Head Coach Jim Tressel will be available in the newly renovated OSU library on campus to sign copies of his latest book “The Winners Manual”.

Coach Tressel has donated proceeds from his book to the library renovation and has raised over $325,000 so far. The library will be open for tours between 5 and 6 pm. While Coach Tressel will be signing his book from 6 to 7 pm.
