Boren Injury Exaggerated
Late last week word came from Ohio State Fall camp that Michigan transfer and starting left guard Justin Boren had sprained his MCL and would be out up to 3 weeks. This caused concern among many Buckeye fans that had hoped the aggressive line play of Boren would mean a successful season for the offensive line.

But as additional practices were held and more information was leaked, it appeared that there was not a tear of an ACL or the MCL and that Boren would be back earlier than first thought. Boren was present on Media Day and discussed being nasty and pushing the defensive lineman 10 yards down the field. He felt that every player on the offensive line for Ohio State has the ability to play nasty.
Ohio State’s 2009 Media Guide was recently released which features a depth chart showing Jim Cordle at right tackle, Bryan Browning at right guard, Michael Brewster at center, Boren at left guard and Mike Adams at left tackle. Behind Boren is Connor Smith although the coaches could move players to varying positions in the case of an injury.
