Tajh Boyd - MVP of the Army All American High School All Star Bowl

Tajh Boyd wasn't familiar with the spread offense when he got to camp this week for the Army All American Bowl but he played great for the winning East squad and earned co-MVP awards before the day was done. He has recently visited both Ohio State and Oregon and the Buckeyes would love to see Boyd follow Terrelle Pryor as the next great quarterback prospect and Army All American MVP to lead their offense.

Great High School Career

We recently spoke with Boyd about his great high school career and what he is looking for in a college. "My best attribute is probably my quick release, it helps me out. The highlight of my career has been winning two state championships, being selected to participate in the Elite 11 and being able to play in the Army All American game." Quite an impressive resume for the 6'5" Richmond Virginia signal caller.

Two Misfires

As a junior in 2008 Boyd put up some impressive numbers. "I threw for 1500 yds. and 23 touchdowns. I also ran for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns." he told us about his final high school season. Despite such great moves on the football field Boyd has had a rocky recruiting process with an early commitment to West Virginia, a decommitment, another commitment to Tennessee, followed by a second decommitment. He is now looking to take his time and find the right fit.

Boyd has been injured which makes his play at the Army All American bowl that much more impressive."I played with a hurt knee." he said. Yet he still passed for 179 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Ohio State and Oregon Visits

According to Boyd he is now looking for the right coaching staff and the best academics in his college selection. "I visited Oregon and Ohio State and enjoyed both visits." he reported about his recent trips. "I am looking for a good college experience, a great coaching staff that will allow me to have a shot at the next level and great academics"
